Grilling Recipes and Menus

steaks A visit to any large bookstore reveals that there have been many cookbooks published in recent years devoted to the subjects of barbecuing and grilling. The questions you need to ask in selecting recipes include: Are the ingredients readily available at your local market? How much advance prep time does the recipe call for? If you’re idea of a perfect grilling experience is keeping an eye on the steaks while you sit in a lawn chair and enjoy a cold beverage, a recipe with a complex barbecue sauce that takes several hours to prepare may not be the way to go—no matter how good it might taste.

One thing you don’t have to worry about too much is your own level of cooking skill. You will find most of the recipes to be fairly simple to follow, and you don’t even have to worry much about exact measurements of ingredients. One exception to this is the amount of hot chili spices you use; too much can turn a wonderful dish into a virtually inedible one. If you’re grilling for guests coming over, it’s best to keep the recipes simple, and prepare as much ahead of time as you can, so you will be able to socialize with them. And even with simple recipes, you can provide your guests with a new and different taste experience—there are literally thousands of options in dishes you can cook outdoors.
